Frits Celis Flemish Opera Download Series

401DutchOperas is extremely happy to have found in Flemish conductor Frits Celis a true treasurer of Flemish lyric art. In close cooperation with Celis we have released the Frits Celis Series with nine uniue live recordings from the masterpieces of Flemish opera, ll conducted by Celis himself. Until our discovery of these recordings it was not known that these 1960s performances had been recorded. This discovery is all the more precious, because these eprformnaces would tun out to be the very last ones for the operas of  Jan Blockx, August De Boeck, Emile Wambach and Peter Benoit. Except for a sngle performance of Paul Gilson's Prinses Zonneschijn none of these work would or could ever be heard again, until this release.
